Regency Crescents and Terraces
Tyburnia is a historic residential district in Paddington, London, laid out from 1824 under architect Samuel Pepys Cockerell's masterplan for the Bishop of London's Tyburn Estate. Conceived as an elegant West End quarter to rival Belgravia, the scheme introduced broad, orderly streets, stucco-fronted terraces, and formal squares that defined the area's mid-19th-century character. Much of Cockerell's plan survives in the crescents and terraces around Sussex Gardens, Westbourne Terrace and Hyde Park Square, giving Tyburnia its distinctive blend of planned urban form and refined residential architecture. - AsNotedIn
