Mercy D Hatch

  • Plymouth Colony

Mercy "Marcy" Delano Hatch, born in 1686 in Dartmouth, Plymouth Colony, was a member of the Delano family whose descendants spread across southeastern Massachusetts. She married Joseph Hatch and lived in the Acushnet-New Bedford region during the early eighteenth century, raising a family that later became part of the area's early settler lineages. Mercy died in 1733 and was buried in Acushnet Cemetery, remembered as one of the early Delano women whose family ties shaped the community's colonial-era history. Her brother, Thomas Delano, is a direct ancestor of US President President Franklin D Roosevelt. - AsNotedIn
