Joseph Martin Rogers was a nineteenth-century notary public in Jefferson County, Kentucky, the son of Bernard F Rogers and Mary Ann Coons Rogers Keyes. He first married Kate Gamble in Jefferson County and later wed Julia Ann Rogers, forming a family line that produced two generations of notable architects. His son, James Gamble Rogers, achieved national recognition for his collegiate Gothic designs, and his grandson — also named James Gamble Rogers- continued the architectural legacy into the twentieth century.
