The Longaberger Basket Building in Newark, Ohio, is one of the most recognizable examples of novelty architecture in the United States. Completed in 1997, the seven-story office building was designed as the headquarters of The Longaberger Company, a manufacturer of handmade baskets. The building is a giant replica of the firm's Medium Market Basket, one of the best-selling products of the firm founded by Dave Longaberger. The structure contains approximately 180,000 square feet of office space and features enormous basket handles equipped with heating elements to prevent ice accumulation. Known locally as the Big Basket, the building served as the company's corporate headquarters during its peak years and remains a landmark of Ohio roadside architecture. - AsNotedIn
