Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Consolation
- Address: 23 Rue Jean-Goujon
- Arrondissement Municipal of 8th Rt, Elysium in Paris
The Chapel of Notre-Dame-de-la-Consolation is a Roman Catholic chapel on Rue Jean-Goujon in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, France. It was erected as a memorial to the 140 persons — mostly women and children — who perished in a catastrophic fire during a charity auction. Designed by architect Albert Guilbert, the chapel received a gold medal for its Classical Revival composition at the Paris Universal Exposition of 1900. Its lavish interior casts a luminous glow across the apse while imparting a somber, reflective tone to the Stations of the Cross. - AsNotedIn
