The North Chuckwalla Mountains Petroglyph District protects rock art inscribed on rhyolitic outcrops in the Chuckwalla Mountains Wilderness near Desert Center, Riverside County. The petroglyphs, discovered by Gerrit L Fenenga (BLM) on 20 June 1979, are on the southern edge of Chuckwalla Valley, at the mouth of a major unnamed drainage on the northern flank of the Chuckwalla Mountains. - AsNotedIn
