The Bloedner monument is a Monument to fallen German-Americans killed at the Battle of Rowlett's Station. It is the oldest American Civil War memorial, it was carved by Private August Bloedner, a member of the 32nd Indiana Infantry Regiment, out of a natural outcrop of limestone. Bloedner, a native of Germany, wrote the inscription in German. The original monument is on display in the Frazier History Museum's lobby and a replica has has been placed at Cave Hill National Cemetery. - AsNotedIn
