John Vanderhorst

John Vanderhorst was the only son of the elder immigrant John Vanderhorst and a landholding figure in colonial South Carolina. Sometimes styled "Captain," he married first Margaret, widow of Rev John Pollock, and later Mary Elizabeth Foissin, and was the father of several children including Arnoldus, William, Joseph, Elias, and Elizabeth. His 1738 will — now lost — divided his estate among his sons, and his death was recorded in Christ Church Parish. - AsNotedIn
