John Arthur Rogers
American
John Arthur Rogers was an American architect, artist and teacher born in Louisville, Kentucky. A graduate of Northwestern University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he entered Chicago's architectural world through brief associations with William LeBaron Jenney and the firm of Holabird & Roche. In 1898 he partnered with his brother, James Gamble Rogers, before joining the practice Phillips, Rogers & Woodyatt, where he served as designer and superintendent of construction for the Chicago Board of Education. Health concerns prompted his move to Daytona Beach, Florida, around 1917, where he continued his architectural work until his death in 1934. His son, James Gamble Rogers II, was also an architect. - AsNotedIn
