Dr William R Tipton was a notable American physician based in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He was a member of the Territorial Board of Health and served as superintendent of the New Mexico Hospital for the Insane in Las Vegas. He was also one of the founders of the New Mexico Medical Society and became its first president. His wife, Elizabeth Duncan, was a relative of Samuel Huntington of Connecticut, one of the signers of the United States Declaration of Independence. - AsNotedIn
