Colonel Philip Van Cortlandt
Philip Van Cortlandt was a New York merchant, land owner and Colonel in the New York militia. He married Catherine de Peyster 10 December 1710. Philip was a member of the Provincial Council from 1730 to 1740. In 1740 Mr Van Courtlandt, as a commissioner for New York, journeyed to Albany to make a treaty with the Iroquois Indians. - AsNotedIn
